Wildlife Care Centre
Each year The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary cares for over 300 sick, injured or orphaned animals brought into the Habitat by the local community. Wildlife Keepers are kept busy throughout the year with calls from concerned residents who have enquires about a wide range of wildlife related subjects.
Some of the more common calls are from residents who have found they are sharing their homes with unusual visitors are looking for reassurance and advice on local native wildlife.
The Habitat uses funds raised from donations and park entries to operate their wildlife rescue programme which includes a dedicated wildlife care centre. Each species is given specific care to suit its particular needs and released back to the wild if appropriate. Some animals stay for a day some with severe injuries can stay for many months before being released, some that have incapacitating injuries stay on a permanent basis.
